Privacy Policy
Limno doesn't collect, sell or share your data. It has no accounts, no analytics and no tracking, and nothing you make with it is sent to us or to anyone else.
This website
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking scripts. It is hosted on Vercel, which, like any web host, processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to serve pages and keep them secure. We don't use that data for anything else.
Developer packages
Limno's npm packages (@limno/next, @limno/vite-plugin, @limno/webpack, @limno/mcp and their shared parts) run only on your computer, in development. They save your changes and comments in your project's .limno folder, so your own coding tools can read them. They send nothing to us, and they are not included in your production builds.
The only request they make is an update check: at most once an hour, your dev server asks the public npm registry for Limno's latest version number, so Limno can offer an update. The request carries nothing about you or your project. Updates install only when you click Update, using your own package manager. Set LIMNO_NO_UPDATE_CHECK=1 to turn the check off.
The setup command (npx @limno/cli init) runs only when you start it. It reads your project's files to work out your setup, changes only the files you approve, and installs Limno with your own package manager, which downloads it from the npm registry. It sends nothing to us.
If you allow Limno to run your coding agent (Claude Code or Codex) when you click Send, it starts that agent on your computer, signed in as you. The agent then works with your code and its provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) exactly as when you run it yourself, under your account and that provider's terms. Limno itself still sends nothing to us. Your permission is saved on your computer in ~/.limno/trust.json, and you can turn it off at any time in Limno's agent panel.
Chrome extension
The extension does nothing on a page until you click its toolbar button (or press its keyboard shortcut) on that tab. It then runs only in that tab.
What the extension stores
When you make changes or leave comments, the extension saves your drafts so they survive a page reload. For each site, a draft can include:
- the page address, title and window size;
- references to the elements you changed, such as their position in the page, class names and visible text;
- the style values and text you set, and the comments you write;
- how many drafts are still pending, shown on the toolbar button.
This is saved with Chrome's extension storage on your device only. It isn't synced to other devices and isn't sent anywhere.
Screenshots
When you choose Export, the extension takes two screenshots of the page in the current tab, before and after your changes. They go straight into the exported file, which is saved to your computer like any download. The extension doesn't keep them afterwards and never sends them anywhere. The page you're viewing never receives them either.
Clipboard
When you choose Copy for agent, Limno puts the prompt describing your changes on your clipboard. It never reads your clipboard.
The editing frame
In edit mode, Limno shows the page inside a frame next to its editing panel. Some sites send headers (X-Frame-Options and Content-Security-Policy) that prevent being shown in a frame. While edit mode is on, the extension removes those two headers, only for frames on that same site, and only in the tab you're editing. It stops as soon as you leave edit mode, navigate away or close the tab. This happens entirely in your browser; no traffic passes through us.
Network requests
The extension makes no network requests of its own. Pages in the editing frame load from their own site, exactly as they would in a normal tab.
Extension permissions
- Access to websites: so Limno can work on whichever site you choose to review, after you click its button.
- Scripting: to add the editor to the current tab when you click the button.
- Storage: to keep your drafts on your device.
- Network rules: to allow the current site to be shown in the editing frame, as described above.
Your control
You can discard any change or comment in Limno's panel at any time. Removing the extension from Chrome deletes everything it stored. Deleting a project's .limno folder removes what the developer packages saved.
Limno is a tool for designers and developers and isn't directed at children.
